A Design of Experiments Approach Towards Desired Flow Distribution Through Manifolds in Electronics Cooling

For rack-mounted electronics, flow distribution is desired as per the heat load characteristics. In literature, attainment of uniformity through manifolds highlighted and widely discussed it has more applications. To attain distribution, complexity problem increases. present paper, Design Experiments (DOE) along with response surface optimization used to arrive at flow, which includes uniform also. A three-dimension, 10-channel Z-type manifold considered for study. This model taken from experimentally verified published data patterns are achieved. Flow requirement each channel set a parameter by defined sample under DOE, pattern achieved introducing suitable orifices.
